no, you’ll probablly need to do a small update course though.

No it isn’t but it also depends on what you’ve been doing the past 3 years. If you’ve been working in a law office, I don’t know if the potential employer would really like that. Remember that experience counts for more than education. I’ve seen people who have bachelor’s degrees but worked 5 years make more cash than a person who has a PhD and worked zero years. It’s never too late but it also depends on what direction your career has been going.

Yep too late, bush sold your job to china.
Get a hair cut, get a suit, send out 300 resumes, get ready to go across country, get a job. Its never too late, it just may take time and effort….pun how that facility.

I find that hard to believe! If you have a electrical, mechanical, civil, chemical, industrial, etc…or any other commerce degree, you should not have had much distress staying employed in the first place. If you have an “commerce” degree that is not an accrediated commerce degree, than you might have had problems since these degrees are more about title than make pleased. 2001-2003 was a tough time to be unemployed.

In any case, being out of the loop in one’s field for any period of time is not excellent if you want to get back in. People tend to forget concepts and are not current with the technology. Your mileage may vary of course, but be prepared to be questioned at an interview why you were out of the job promote to your degree…

Best of luck!

no it not too late. What the employers will be looking for is what you have done in the three years. They will be looking for management skills so that you can be a team player. Have you taken any classes, work experiences etc to add to your resume. Have you taken the F.E. (fundamentals in commerce) exam? It depends on what kind of commerce your degree is in the basics are all same as three years ago, you may need a refresher class though.

i woulndt see why you couldnt still use ur degree, if u got one, place it to use, if not you will regret it later, my mom did, she had a drafting degree and never used it.

No, it isn’t, but the others are assess in that you might need some update classes. There’s just so much continuing ed required for engineers. You’ll have to start out as an EIT wherever you go, anyway, until you have enough experience to take your PE exam(if that’s what you hope to do). When you’re ready, I know an awesome national firm that pulls down consistent profits and shares them with its employees. We were ranked #20 on Fortune’s 100 best places to work, an honor that comes from us employees, not the administration! I’ve never worked for any place quite like this. They’re not just looking for fantastic engineers, though, so if you’re interested in pursuing something else with your degree, we still might be able to find the exact place for you. Don’t be discouraged, and if you’re interested, let me know.
