I see former coworkers at my new job and am embarrassed that my new job is so low level?
I was an HR Manager at my last job and worked with a bunch of middle aged engineers who treated me like scum because I was a woman. I finished up quitting my job and now am a receptionist at a law firm making tons less, but enjoying what I do. I've seen a few of my former engineer coworkers at my new job and feel somewhat like I've proved them right that I'm just some stupid woman and now I'm working in an access level job. I'm really smart and my new bosses have told me this and really want to see me go into management. Should I just hold my head high and be confident when I see these former (mean) coworkers?

you beyond doubt have the right mind-set
You were miserable in your ancient job, and you’re pleased in your new job.
That sounds like a step up, to me.
There are things more vital than cash. Congratulations on getting a better life.
